Pulse Staging & Events — Green A/V? What’s that?!
News & Updates

Green A/V? What’s that?!

Three years ago, when founding Pulse, we immediately asserted we would need to align our personal values for environmental and social responsibility with our corporate policies. I earnestly contacted industry organizations that I was certain would provide me with standards of compliance, checklists and other such documents to ensure our service complied with any and all guidelines for Green Audio Visual.

What I found was a plethora of resources for Green Events, but each and every item neglected to mention the Audio Visual. I was astounded! How could any event be deemed “Green” when possibly the greatest offender was being ignored?

So, rather than sit and fret about the issue, I simply started compiling my own guidelines. This part of the story gets a little boring, but over nine months I extensively consulted trade journals, associations and government resources. Ultimately, at the end of 2007, I was able to create a very simple, reader-friendly document on “Greening the Audio Visual Staging Company.” After positive feedback from experts both within and out of the corporate staging and meetings & events worlds, I felt comfortable to begin sharing the information.

In a nutshell, that’s how we came to be the first Green (and I use that term loosely) Audio Visual Staging company in the United States. We are honored to be leading the pack as we help guide the EPA’s new standards for Green A/V.

Please download and enjoy the document here. I wholeheartedly welcome any and all feedback!
